The Kyiv Dialogue is beginning a new project phase. In the coming two years it will support renowned Actors of Change in eight Ukrainian regions. Uzhorod and the region Zakarpattia are new in the network of the Kyiv Dialogue. The project seeks to strengthen solidarity in the society and the control of public institutions by the citizens in those regions where the economic gap to the neighbouring EU-countries and the historically grown cultural diversity are increasingly used as a target to destabilise.

The network is unique in its size and also includes the regions Lviv, Mykolaiv, Mariupol, Sloviansk, Cherkasy, Odesa, und Kharkiv.

The project is financed by European Exchange and the International Renaissance Foundation in Ukraine and supported by the German foreign ministry.

The project aims to develop and improve local democratic structures in eight regions. The focus will be on the following topics:

· methods of public participation

· smart city - transparency and participation in online processes on the local level

· development of urban areas and “third places”

· youth policies on the local level

Save the Date: The 15th annual conference of the Kyiv Dialogue will take place at 21/22 November 2019 in Kyiv and will focus on the evaluation of the elections in Ukraine.
